Isle of Wight

The Isle of Wight is a small island located off the southern coast of Hampshire, England, accessible by crossing the Solent. It is renowned for its mild climate, stunning coastal scenery, famous Chines (steep-sided coastal gorges), and open chalk hills. The island spans just 147 square miles, measuring 23 miles from west to east and 13 miles from north to south, making exploring within a few hours easy.

Visitors can travel to the Isle of Wight all year round, thanks to frequent ferry and hovercraft services for both cars and foot passengers. The journey from London takes just two hours, and the hovercraft ride between Ryde and Southsea lasts only 10 minutes. Car ferries typically take around 30 minutes on routes between New Forest and Yarmouth.

The island is also known for fossil hunting and is affectionately referred to as Dinosaur Island, where visitors can discover rich finds, including dinosaur bones.

With two coastlines featuring rough and sheltered waters, the area offers a wide range of watersports, including surfing, bodyboarding, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding.
