Bude, North Cornwall, is the nearest coast, just a 30-minute drive away. This beautiful coastline offers miles of coastal paths to explore and stunning beaches to discover.

The Ruby Oak Fitness and Leisure facility is located near Holsworthy and Hatherleigh. This public swimming pool is open 7 days per week and offers a heated indoor pool, a child’s play area and a coffee bar with a cafe.

The National Trust Lydford Gorge boasts the deepest river gorge in the South West along with a 30m waterfall. Walk through the temperate rainforest, brave Devil’s Cauldron and walk the woodland. Reward yourself at the end of your walk at the tea room offering delicious snacks and refreshments.

While visiting, Lydford Castle and Saxon Town are worth a look. Lydford has three defensive structures to find. Also worthy of a visit is the award-winning Lydford Gorge Alpaccas Farm. You can get up close and personal with the Alpacas and trek across the moors.

Roadford Lake Activity Centre is just 15 minutes away from Ruby Country Park. Here there is a wide range of activities and watersports on offer. Try your hand at kayaking, paddleboarding or sailing or maybe take a walk around the lake and enjoy watching the local wildlife and scenery.

Trethorne Leisure Park provides indoor and outdoor fun, animal meets and greets, ten-pin bowling and more. It’s an all-action day out keeping the most active family members busy.

RHS Rosemoor is set in a Devon Valley, Rosemoor Gardens are open all year round. Each season makes the gardens look different with its variety of colours and species. There is a lovely gift shop, garden centre and cafe/restaurant too.
