The Holiday Park
Tarka Holiday Park has a rural countryside location and is less than 5 minutes from the largest town in North Devon, Barnstaple. It is pet friendly, so pets are very welcome. There is a laundrette on site.
The park sits west of Exmoor National Park, is not far from from the riverside “River Taw” and is no more than half an hour from Saunton sands (7 miles), Woolacombe (15 miles), Instow (6 miles) and Putsborough beach (10 miles).
Barnstaple has always been a thriving market town with a traditional Pannier Market. The oldest parts of town can still be viewed and include the Norman Mound and Castle, Queen Annes Walk and the 13th century long bridge.
There are plenty of activities to take part in whilst staying at Tarka Holiday Park.
The Tarka trail is easily accessible and provides 180 miles of walking and cycle track through the countryside. If you would prefer a trip by rail, the Tarka Line offers an alternative.
The South West Coastal Path runs along the coast with 90 miles of it located in North Devon. It follows old railways, crosses rivers at the towns of Barnstaple and Biddeford and links with smaller communities like Instow and Westward Ho.
Exmoor Zoo is located in Bratton Fleming near Barnstaple. It is open 362 days a year and is home to the Exmoor Beast! They are home to some very unusual animals.
Tarka Leisure Centre is not far away and has a swimming pool, gym and group classes. It even has an indoor ski slope so you can learn the basics!
